Submitted 1-12-06 Week of January 8th Water Temp: 50-52 Water Condition: Clear to slightly stained Lack of rain has changed the look of the Lake but not the lack of strong healthy fish. Lower Lake levels make it a little harder to run the lake as you would normally, do but just show a little more caution. Most of the bass I am catching are on the same standbys as most years. Lipless crankbaits, 2 oz. 3/4 oz. Colors range from Crawfish pattern, Red crawfish, and Chrome with Blue Black. For me, Chrome on sunny days and crawfish pattern on cloudy days work the best. Fishing Points with a creek channel or deep water nearby seems to be working the best for me. Points with a combination of grass and timber seem to be the ticket. If throwing lipless crankbaits all day is not your ticket, then try jigs either 1/4 oz. or 2 oz. If that does not produce then drop to 1/8 oz. My favorites are from Weedless Lure Company here on Lake Fork, colors range from Watermelon, Black/Blue to Green Pumpkin.
